Brien Posey is a freelance technical writer who has received Microsoft’s MVP award fifteen times for his work with Windows Server, IIS, Exchange Server, File Systems / Storage, Cloud and Datacenter Management, and Windows and Devices for IT.

Brien has written or contributed to dozen books, and created numerous full-length video training courses. In addition, Brien has published over 7000 technical articles and white papers for various Web sites and periodicals.

In addition to his writing, Brien routinely speaks at IT conferences and is involved in a wide variety of other technology related projects.

Prior to going freelance, Brien served as CIO for a national chain of hospitals and healthcare facilities. He has also served as the lead Network Engineer for the United States Department of Defense at Fort Knox, and as a Network Administrator for some of the nation’s largest insurance companies.

As a side project, Brien is currently in his third year of training as a Commercial Scientist-Astronaut Candidate.
